
Meteorologists at "Kazhydromet" warn of adverse weather conditions, including snowstorms, fog, and strong winds, reports Orda.kz.
Today, February 16, a storm warning has been issued in Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and 16 regions of the country. Forecasters predict snow, rain, snowstorms, fog, ice, and winds that may reach speeds of 15–20 meters per second.
In Astana, rain and snow are expected during the day, along with low visibility snowstorms and ice. Wind gusts will reach 15-20 m/s.
In Almaty, fog and ice are forecasted in the morning and at night.
Shymkent will also face rain during the day, with winds in the city increasing to 15–20 m/s.
The North Kazakhstan region will experience snow and snowstorms at night, while during the day there will be precipitation and ice. In Petropavlovsk, precipitation and gusty winds are also expected.
In the Akmolinsk region, snow and snowstorms will occur at night, while ice and precipitation will persist during the day. In Kokshetau, precipitation with winds up to 15–20 m/s is also forecasted.
The Kostanay region may encounter heavy snow in the north at night, while precipitation will continue in the region during the day, along with fog and gusty winds.
In the Karaganda region, light precipitation is expected during the day, as well as possible fog and ice. In the afternoon, ice is expected in Karaganda.
The Pavlodar region will face rain and snow, as well as low visibility snowstorms and ice during the day.
The West Kazakhstan region expects precipitation, snowstorms, and fog, with winds in Uralsk increasing to 15-20 m/s.
In the Aktobe region, snow and snowstorms will occur at night, with fog possible in some areas, and winds will increase to 15-18 m/s.
In the Atyrau region, fog and ice are also expected, especially at night and in the morning in Atyrau.
In the northern part of the Mangistau region, ice and fog are forecasted at night, while in Aktau, winds will increase to 15–20 m/s during the day.
In the Zhambyl region, ice and fog are also possible, with winds in Taraz strengthening to 15–20 m/s.
In the Turkestan region, rain is expected in the mountains at night, and in several areas, precipitation will also occur during the day, with heavy rain in the mountains. Thunderstorms are possible in the south.
In the Abai region, fog is expected at night and in the morning.
In the East Kazakhstan region, fog is also forecasted at night and in the morning. In Ust-Kamenogorsk, meteorologists warn of fog.
Ulytau expects rain and snow in the morning and during the day, with possible ice and low visibility snowstorms.
In the Kyzylorda region, ice and fog can be expected at night and in the morning.
It was previously reported that the temperature in the country is gradually rising. According to "Kazhydromet," a cyclone is moving from west to east, bringing precipitation. In Astana, daytime temperatures will range from -1 to +1 °C, in Almaty from +8 to +10 °C, and in Shymkent from +15 to +17 °C. Despite the warming, meteorologists continue to warn of strong winds, fog, and ice.
