According to court documents, the bar manager tried to escort LaBeouf out of the bar, but he allegedly attempted to hit him in response. After he was finally removed, the actor reportedly punched one of the patrons who was helping the manager. He then returned and struck another man.
The police reported that several people tried to hold LaBeouf until they arrived. After the law enforcement officers arrived, the actor was taken to the hospital, from where he was later discharged and arrested, facing charges of assault.
In recent days, there have been reports of the actor's strange behavior in various establishments in New Orleans. A worker at Ms Mae's bar, Robert Scuz, stated that LaBeouf came in a state that could be described as "confrontational."
During the scuffle, the actor reportedly said, "Do you know who I am?" Scuz added.
LaBeouf was forced to leave the bar after attempting to sneak behind the bar to pour drinks for himself and others.
The actor has previously been open about his struggles with alcohol. After his arrest in 2017 in Savannah, Georgia, he underwent a court-mandated rehabilitation program, which inspired him to create the semi-autobiographical film "Honey Boy."
