Jacques and Jessica Moretti
The detention of Moretti followed a lengthy interrogation that took place on January 9. During the investigation, his wife and co-owner of the bar, Jessica Moretti, was also questioned.

According to the newspaper, the decision to detain the bar owner marked a significant change in the investigation's position, as just on January 4, a police press release stated that there were no grounds for his preliminary arrest, including due to the risk of fleeing justice.

Moretti and his wife are suspected of involuntary manslaughter, as well as causing bodily harm and negligent arson in connection with the tragic incident that claimed the lives of 40 people, reports 24 heures.

Preliminary data indicates that the cause of the fire at Le Constellation was the ignition of soundproofing foam on the ceiling when bartenders were using fireworks. The flames engulfed the premises in less than a minute, resulting in 116 people being injured.
