The investigation is being conducted under the article of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic concerning "Violation of fire safety rules." As part of the investigation, a fire-technical examination has already been appointed, and checks and investigative actions are underway.
To extinguish the fire, the work of four fire brigades and an operational headquarters was organized. The fire was completely extinguished.
According to the Bishkek city administration, the fire occurred in the palliative care unit's room, covering an area of about 30 square meters; however, the main building of the institution was not damaged.
High-ranking officials arrived at the scene, including Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, and Minister of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration Kanat Sagynbaev.
As a result of the fire, two residents in critical condition died. Additionally, 11 people were hospitalized for observation due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to the city administration, fire-tactical exercises were conducted at this institution in July 2025, and fire safety requirements were properly adhered to. The city head instructed to check all documentation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The Ministry of Health reported that 14 victims were taken to the Clinical Emergency Hospital: 13 people with a diagnosis of "carbon monoxide poisoning" and one with first-degree burns. The condition of four patients is assessed as moderate, and two as severe. Minister of Health Kanaybek Dosmambetov visited the victims.
