There were 13 people in the palliative care unit, of whom two died. The other 11 patients from neighboring rooms were evacuated to another unit, and later they were hospitalized to rule out possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Victoria Mozgacheva noted that if the patients' condition does not change, they plan to return them to the facility as early as tomorrow.
The vice mayor also reported that in July of last year, fire safety drills were conducted in the nursing home building in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations. "All activities were completed, and there were no remarks. Now specialists will investigate what exactly happened in the room," she added.
According to Mozgacheva's information, a major renovation was carried out in 2025 in the primarily three-story building of the nursing home.
