Vice Mayor Victoria Mozgacheva announced at the latest session of the Bishkek City Council that 32 school buildings will be constructed in the capital by 2026.

She noted that the project is aimed at balancing the load on schools considering the population growth and high internal migration. "New schools are needed to cope with the increasing number of residents," Mozgacheva added.

Among the planned 32 buildings, seven will be extensions to existing educational institutions, while the remaining 25 will be new schools.

According to the vice mayor, 20 of these educational institutions will be built at the initiative of the Ministry of Construction, following the directive of President Sadyr Japarov, and 12 schools will be constructed as part of the second phase of a project funded by the Saudi Development Fund. Currently, there are 119 schools operating in Bishkek.

Previously, Mozgacheva also promised to build ten kindergartens next year.
