According to Talaybek Surapbaev, the city council had previously approved a design code that was supposed to lead to changes in the appearance of the capital.
“Nevertheless, no changes are observed. Competition and standards should be uniform for everyone, and Bishkek needs to be updated. It is also necessary to increase revenues from non-tax payments,” he noted.

Deputy Maksat Alymbekov also expressed support for his colleague's opinions.
“When the design code was approved, we were told that the bus stops would be made in a unified style of 'winter - summer'. However, on one side of the street, the stops are of one design from one investor, and across the road, there are completely different ones from another. This indicates that the requirements for them differ, and there are many such examples in Bishkek,” he noted.
Alymbekov proposed to conduct an inspection of the implementation of the city council's decisions that are significant for the revenue part of the budget through non-tax revenues.
