At a meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council dedicated to issues of municipal property and urban planning, the question of constructing multi-level underground parking lots was raised.

Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov stated: “We are open to proposals from investors willing to implement the underground parking construction project.” He added that such initiatives are being considered with great interest.

Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov emphasized the need to provide residents of the "Alamedin-1" microdistrict with parking spaces. He noted: “Before demolishing garages, alternative parking locations should be thought out; otherwise, it will lead to chaos, especially during peak hours. Perhaps garages should be demolished in stages.”

Azamat Kadyrov noted that the areas where garages will be demolished have all the possibilities for constructing multi-level parking lots. “Before the project is implemented, existing structures need to be dismantled. Garage owners will retain priority for parking. Unfortunately, many courtyards did not have designated parking spaces, but we are trying to organize pockets for cars along the streets,” he added.

It was previously reported that the Bishkek city hall has begun the process of dismantling more than a thousand garages located on municipal land.
