As part of the discussion on the General Plan for the Development of Bishkek until 2050, Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov answered key questions from residents regarding the planned building heights and the preservation of the historical appearance of the capital.
Plans for High-Rise Construction
Kadyrov explained that the project includes various height zones, which are visually indicated by colors on the plan.
In particular:
- bright red indicates high-rise buildings (over 14 floors):
- such zones are planned in the area of Dostoevsky Street, in the Orok zone, and in the vicinity of the old racetrack.
The Deputy Mayor added that anyone interested can familiarize themselves with the project and study information about building heights in each specific area. Additionally, changes will be made to the project based on citizens' suggestions.
Protection of Historical Objects
Kadyrov noted that the general plan does not mention specific buildings but highlights zones where certain regulatory rules apply.
The list of objects under state protection has already been approved by the relevant authorities.
The project provides for the preservation of the central part of Bishkek in its current low-rise format, which will help maintain architectural balance and protect the historical atmosphere.
Public discussions are ongoing, and the authorities assured that they will take into account the opinions and suggestions of local residents.
