Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov raised the problem, noting that residents of the city had reserved plots at the Southwestern cemetery next to the graves of their loved ones.
He expressed concern: “Currently, the cemetery is closed, and there are more than a thousand free plots available. What should be done with these places?”
In response, Mayor Aybek Junushaliev stated that a decision regarding this site had already been made, and the municipality strictly adheres to it.
“We do not allow burials at this cemetery. Additionally, within the framework of land amnesty, private residential buildings nearby have been legalized. We have reduced the sanitary zone to minimize risks. Therefore, the question of reopening the cemetery is not even being considered. It remains closed and preserved,” he emphasized.
During the session, it was also reported that regulations for reserving plots at other cemeteries are being developed. After analyzing the impact of these regulations, the documents will be presented to the deputies in about three months.
