President Donald Trump announced an increase in tariffs on imported goods from 10% to 15% for all countries around the world. He made this statement on February 22 on the Truth Social platform, publishing a corresponding post.

According to Trump, “I have decided to immediately increase tariffs for all countries in the world (…) from 10% to 15%. This action is fully in accordance with the law,” the president noted.

Additionally, he emphasized that his team will continue to develop a new tariff policy.

Earlier, on Saturday, Trump signed an order introducing “global tariffs” at a rate of 10% on imports from all countries. The administration clarified that some goods, including those that are crucial for the U.S. economy, will not be subject to these measures.

It is worth noting that the president had previously warned of the possibility of introducing such tariffs in connection with a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled that many of the tariffs imposed by the administration were illegal. The court ruled that the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not grant the president the authority to impose import tariffs.
