Mirziyoyev launched construction and investment projects in Surkhandarya worth $7.1 billion

As part of this event, it was noted that out of 44 projects, 31 projects, with a total cost of about $6.3 billion, are focused on the construction of residential and other facilities. Foreign investors are actively participating in the implementation of these initiatives, including companies from Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Afghanistan.

The remaining 13 projects, totaling over $741 million, cover various sectors of the economy, including mining, geology, light and food industries, as well as services and tourism. These initiatives clearly demonstrate the cooperation of local entrepreneurs with foreign partners from China, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Russia, and Tajikistan.

According to regional authorities' forecasts, the implementation of these projects will create 18,000 jobs, increase production volume to 82 trillion soums ($6.7 billion), and raise goods exports to $1.4 billion.

At the ceremony, it was noted that there is active development of entrepreneurship in Surkhandarya, and investor interest in the region continues to grow.

Last year, the gross regional product amounted to 63.7 trillion soums ($5.2 billion). The number of large industrial enterprises increased to 30, while the number of small manufacturing companies rose to 4,820. The volume of produced goods reached 18.8 trillion soums ($1.5 billion). Additionally, foreign investments in the region amounted to $2.1 billion, and the export of local goods and services totaled $483 million, with supplies to 37 countries.

Currently, investment projects worth about $1.6 billion are being implemented in the region, covering various areas of the economy—from housing construction to pharmaceuticals and tourism. Among Uzbekistan's partners in these initiatives are businessmen from Russia, China, Turkey, Pakistan, Japan, Germany, India, and Mongolia.
