Additionally, Trump announced plans to destroy Iran's missile capabilities and military infrastructure. "We will completely dismantle their missile industry and destroy all their missiles," he emphasized.
The President also stated that the United States is prepared to strike against Iran's naval forces: "We will destroy their fleet," he said.
According to Reuters, strikes on Iranian territory are being carried out from both the air and the sea.
In his address, Trump also discussed potential losses among American servicemen, noting that "losses are inevitable in war, but we act for the future."
He urged Iranian armed formations to lay down their arms, stating: "The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, armed forces, and police, surrender immediately - you will be granted full protection; otherwise, you will face imminent destruction."
Trump also made an appeal to the Iranian people, informing them that "the hour of freedom is near." "Stay home; the streets are unsafe. When we finish, you will have the opportunity to govern your own country. This may be your only chance for generations," he added.
He also characterized the Iranian leadership as "a brutal group of extremely dangerous people," whose activities, he said, threaten the U.S., American military, and allies. "Bombs will be falling everywhere," Trump concluded, describing the scale of the operation.
