Jim Carrey received the prestigious "César" award at a recent ceremony in France, as reported by Variety.

The award was presented to the actor by director Michel Gondry, with whom he collaborated in 2004 on the film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." During the ceremony, Jim delivered a speech in French, despite his American accent.

In his speech, Carrey compared the acting profession to sculptural art, noting: "Each character for me is like clay that I can shape as I wish. I am glad that I was able to share this art with those who opened their hearts to me."

The actor also mentioned his family history, telling about his ancestor Marc-François Carre, who was born in French Saint-Malo and emigrated to Canada. According to Carrey, this award became a symbol of closure for him.

At the end of his speech, he thanked his loved ones: daughter Jane, grandson Jackson, and his partner Mina, as well as his father Percy Joseph Carrey.

"I am grateful to the funniest person I ever knew - my father, who taught me love, generosity, and laughter," the actor added.
