On the evening of March 8, an unusual event occurred in Koblenz, located in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate in western Germany: a meteorite landed on the roof of a residential building. According to the Koblenz police, the incident happened around 7:00 PM in the Güls area. Fortunately, no one was injured.
According to information provided by ZDF Heute, the meteorite pierced the roof of the building and landed in a bedroom, but at that moment, there was no one in the room.
A police representative also informed the dpa agency that meteorite fragments caused damage to roofs and houses in other parts of the region. In particular, reports of similar incidents came from the Hunsrück and Eifel areas. Witnesses noted that "fire flashes" appeared in the sky, causing some residents to worry, believing it could have been a rocket. However, the police assured that "there are no signs of an incident related to safety."
