As reported by The Wall Street Journal, Russia is actively transferring satellite data and upgraded drone technologies to Iran, indicating an expansion of military cooperation between the two countries.

The publication specifies that this particularly concerns technologies for modified Shahed drones, which are intended to improve their navigation, communication, and targeting capabilities. Moscow is also sharing its experience in the use of drones, gained during the conflict in Ukraine, with Iran.

According to WSJ, cooperation has deepened in recent days, and Russia has begun to provide Iran with satellite imagery directly. This support is believed to potentially assist Iran in attacks on American targets in the Middle East region.

The day after the article was published, the Kremlin denied the information, calling it "fake news," as stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov.

It is also worth noting that military cooperation between Russia and Iran has intensified against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. According to WSJ, Russia is utilizing Iran's Shahed developments and is now sharing its own modifications of these drones with its ally.
