According to an internal Pentagon document published by Politico, the U.S. military leadership expects the operation against Iran to last at least 100 days, until September. The Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces (CENTCOM) has requested additional military intelligence personnel to support these actions.

Moreover, the publication reports that the State Department is allocating additional resources for the evacuation of Americans in the Middle East region, while the Pentagon is increasing the number of troops responsible for gathering intelligence. These actions highlight that the U.S. administration was not fully prepared for the large-scale war it is facing, notes Politico.

On February 28, Israel, in conjunction with the U.S., carried out strikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced his intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response to the attacks, Iran began striking territories in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries where U.S. military bases are located. As a result, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), were attacked.

During the joint attack by the U.S. and Israel, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. Following this, his wife, Mansoureh Khojasteh, also died from her injuries.

Iran declared jihad against the U.S. and Israel, emphasizing that there will be no negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East has global repercussions, even affecting Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. A list of phone numbers for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
