Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, announced that the country is ready to take real steps towards achieving a long-awaited and dignified peace. In his address, he pointed to the upcoming new round of trilateral negotiations involving the USA and Russia, which will take place on February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi, as reported by UNIAN.

On February 2, Monday, Zelensky held a coordination meeting with the Ukrainian delegation that will go to the negotiations in Abu Dhabi. This event was attended by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, the head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov, his first deputy Serhiy Kyslytsia, as well as the Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov and advisor to the head of the President's Office Oleksandr Bevz.

The President noted that he has defined the framework for the upcoming negotiations and specific tasks for the team.

He emphasized: "We are ready for real steps. We are confident that we can achieve a dignified and long-term peace. We have a bilateral document on security guarantees with the United States, and we hope for constructive work on documents related to reconstruction and economic development."

Zelensky expressed hope that the United States will continue to show determination in creating conditions for dialogue. He also noted that the de-escalation measures introduced on Friday night contribute to building trust in the negotiations and their possible outcomes.

He added: "The war must be ended. I thank everyone who is providing assistance."

The next round of trilateral negotiations involving Ukraine, the USA, and Russia is scheduled for February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi. It is expected that the special envoy of the US President, Steve Witkoff, will participate in these discussions.

After the previous negotiations held in the UAE on January 23-24, Western media reported that the issue of the future of Donbas remains open. According to information, the USA is ready to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine only after a peace agreement is signed, while Washington emphasizes the importance of a political settlement of territorial issues.
