Negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the USA will take place on February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi, - Zelensky

On social media on February 1, Zelensky noted: “We are ready for serious dialogue and hope that the results will help bring us closer to a dignified resolution of the conflict.”

So far, representatives from both Russia and the USA have not commented on these plans. According to TASS, the negotiations in Abu Dhabi were agreed upon by the parties for the middle of the week.

Initially, the new round of negotiations was scheduled for February 1, as reported by Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov on January 28: “The negotiations are set for February 1, although this is a tentative date” (quote from TASS).

Also, on January 30, Vladimir Zelensky expressed the possibility of rescheduling the meeting to another day and place due to the deterioration of relations between the USA and Iran.

The first round of trilateral negotiations took place in a closed format in Abu Dhabi on January 23-24. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates reported that the delegations of Ukraine and Russia had the opportunity to communicate directly.

Representatives of the Ukrainian side characterized the negotiations as “positive” and “constructive,” while the Russian side pointed out that “it would be a mistake to expect significant success from these initial meetings.”
