
During the first meeting, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, noted that the discussions focused on the conditions for ending Russian aggression and the further strategy of the negotiation process aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace.
According to a high-ranking source from the White House, the meeting was successful. Umerov also reported that on Saturday, the Chief of the General Staff, General Andriy Hnatov, and the Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Vadym Skibitsky, will join the Ukrainian team.
From the American side, the negotiations involve special representatives: the son-in-law of the U.S. President, Jared Kushner, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, senior peace advisor Josh Grünbaum, and NATO Commander in Europe Alexus Grinkevich.
The negotiations are scheduled to last for two days.
