The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, previously confirmed the start of negotiations among the delegations of the three countries. The Emirati foreign ministry specified that the session is scheduled for two days — January 23 and 24.
According to information from DW, the negotiations are taking place under conditions of "maximum secrecy": the location is not disclosed, and the press is not allowed. Sources indicate that this arrangement has been maintained at least until Thursday evening. It is also reported that there has been no information about the negotiations at major hotels, and no increased patrols have been observed near the hotels and the presidential palace.
On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this trilateral meeting, expressing hope that it would help in ending the war.
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that both Vladimir Putin and Zelensky are ready to reach an agreement to resolve the conflict.
The Axios portal, citing its sources, noted that a key topic on the agenda of the trilateral working group on security issues may be the discussion of territorial matters.
