As of now, the total amount of expenditures has reached nearly $2 billion. According to available data, current combat operations cost approximately $4,400 every second.
Expenses for maintaining naval forces range from $15.7 to $21.5 million per day, while operational costs fluctuate around $220 million daily. In the early days of the operation, expenses were estimated at $380 million per day but later decreased to $220 million, and after the tenth day, to $155 million per day.
Additionally, the site tracks the number of missiles and bombs used, as well as destroyed equipment. Losses from the downing of three aircraft amount to $270 million, while strikes on Iran cost an additional $538 million.
Included in the expenses are personnel costs (up to $40 million per day with the deployment of about 50,000 military personnel), fleet and aviation (approximately $70 million per day), as well as overhead costs. Losses of equipment and the use of expensive missiles are accounted for separately.
The project's authors emphasize that actual costs for replenishing ammunition may be 10-20% higher than estimated. Long-term expenses for veteran medical care, as well as economic losses and impacts on energy markets, are not included in the total amount.
Data sources include materials from the U.S. Department of Defense, reports from CBO and GAO, data from TRANSCOM and DLA Energy, publications from Defense News, Brown University's Costs of War project, as well as studies from the Stimson Center and SIPRI.
