According to information from the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), it has been reported for the first time about casualties among American servicemen involved in operations against Iran.

As of 09:30 on March 1, Eastern Time, during Operation "Epic Fury," three soldiers were killed, and five others sustained serious injuries. Some servicemen with minor wounds and concussions are already returning to their duties.

CENTCOM also emphasized that hostilities are ongoing and the situation remains tense. Additionally, it was noted that details about the deceased, including their names, will not be disclosed for 24 hours after their families have been notified.

Operation "Epic Fury" began on February 28 at the direction of President Donald Trump and is being conducted in conjunction with the Israeli operation "Lion's Roar." The strikes targeted military facilities, command posts of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and infrastructure related to Iran's missile program, including Tehran and the area of the presidential complex.

In response, Iran carried out missile and drone attacks on Israel and American bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, on February 28, CENTCOM reported that Iran's retaliatory actions did not cause damage to American servicemen and were minimal in their consequences. However, this statement marked the first confirmation of U.S. casualties since the operation began.

This operation is taking place against the backdrop of a failure in negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program. On February 26, Iran refused to comply with U.S. demands to close nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, as well as to transfer enriched uranium stocks during talks in Geneva.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, at least 201 people were killed on the first day of hostilities, and another 747 were injured. Among the affected sites was a girls' elementary school in the city of Minab, where, according to official information, the number of fatalities exceeded 140.
