
According to local authorities, after the explosion, the Port Arthur fire department urged residents in the western part of the city to stay home, closing windows and doors, in accordance with officials' recommendations.
There are also reports of possible road restrictions in the areas of Highway 82 and Highway 87, which may affect traffic from other highways. Sheriff Zena Stevens noted that the cause of the explosion could have been an industrial heater. Fortunately, there is currently no information about any injuries.
Specialists from the Texas Department of Emergency Management and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality are working at the scene. Their statement indicates that they are monitoring air quality in the explosion area.
