According to Azizbek Ablabek uulu, the head of the Road Safety Department in the district, one of the teenagers was behind the wheel of a Kia car, which also had two other schoolchildren inside. All of them were hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Kochkor District Hospital. Unfortunately, despite the medical assistance provided, two of them passed away, while the condition of the third victim is currently assessed as stable.
It is worth noting that on the day of the accident, the parents of the schoolchildren were in Bishkek, and the children took the car without their knowledge. Preliminary data indicates that speeding was the main cause of the traffic accident.
According to official statistics, in Kyrgyzstan in 2025, there were 8,456 recorded traffic accidents, resulting in 900 fatalities and 12,169 injuries of varying severity. The most common causes of accidents are speeding, crossing into oncoming traffic, driving under the influence of alcohol, and the poor condition of some roads.
