During 2025, more than 8 thousand road accidents were registered in Kyrgyzstan. The main factors contributing to these incidents were speeding, improper maneuvers, driving into oncoming traffic, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to comply with traffic rules at intersections, as well as disregard for traffic signs and maintaining the necessary distance.
This statistical data was presented at today’s meeting dedicated to the results of the work of the Main Department for Ensuring Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2025.

At the beginning of the meeting, the best employees of the year were recognized, after which there was a discussion of both the successes and shortcomings in the agency's activities. The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized the importance of strict adherence to official discipline, improving the qualifications of employees, as well as enhancing control during recruitment and proper treatment of drivers.
Particular attention was paid to issues of digitalization, the development of a service-oriented approach, cooperation with local self-government bodies, and stricter control over the issuance of licenses to taxi drivers, as well as preventing road accidents.
As a result of the meeting, a directive was issued to eliminate the identified shortcomings as soon as possible, and some employees were subjected to disciplinary measures.
