In the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposes to tighten penalties for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov at a recent meeting of the parliamentary committee.

He noted that the new rules suggest the abolition of probation for those drivers who were under the influence of drugs or alcohol and caused harm or death to other people.

In addition, it is planned to increase the term of administrative arrest to 20 days.
