On the morning of February 28, Israel and the United States conducted strikes on Iranian territory. Donald Trump announced his intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran began striking U.S. military bases and other targets in Israel and the Middle East. The strikes were directed at Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

During the U.S.-Israeli operation, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed, and his wife, Mansoureh Khojasteh, died from injuries sustained in the attack.

Donald Trump stated that the military operation in Iran would last about four weeks. A jihad against the U.S. and Israel was declared in Iran, emphasizing that there would be no negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East is affecting the global situation, including Kyrgyzstan. Thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. Contact information for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
