On October 17 and 18, Japan Days were held in Osh. The event was organized by the Embassy of Japan in Kyrgyzstan, the JICA office, and the Kyrgyz-Japanese Center for Human Development (KRJC).

Students from Osh State University studying the Japanese language delighted the audience with a cover version of the song "Winged Swing" and a dance performance in Japanese style.

The musical program was enhanced by the band "Sushi Barmak," which performed popular compositions from Japanese anime.

The performances concluded with demonstration numbers from the Kendo Federation in Kyrgyzstan.

In the university foyer, JICA volunteers and KRJC staff invited everyone interested to try their hand at calligraphy, wear a yukata (the summer version of a kimono), engage in origami, and play traditional games. A corner for the Japanese language was also organized by specialists from the Japan Foundation.

The advisor to the Japanese embassy, Suzuki Hiroyuki, expressed hope that this event would be a step towards strengthening friendly relations between Japan and Kyrgyzstan, particularly with Osh.
