The find was discovered in the Borombay area
The research group of the Center for Altaic Studies and Turkology "Great Altai" at Altai State University has discovered a previously unknown stone sculpture. It depicts a female silhouette with a characteristic three-horned headdress typical of the early Turkic period. This information was reported by the Center.
The find was made as part of the work of the Chui Kyrgyz-Russian archaeological expedition, organized by the Center for Altaic Studies and Turkology "Great Altai" of Altai State University in collaboration with the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn (KNU). The research was conducted at archaeological sites in the Borombay area, near the village of Kyzyl-Oktyabr in the Kemin district of Chui region.

Among the significant results of the expedition, the discovery and thorough documentation of the stone sculpture from the early Turkic period, located near the Borombay-I burial mound group, can be highlighted. This object depicts a female figure with a three-horned headdress and a cup in her right hand.
“It is noteworthy that a large boulder, which differs from local stones, was used to create the sculpture. This may indicate its transportation or that the material was specially brought in for its creation. We conducted photogrammetric recording of the object and created its digital copy; preparations for publication are currently underway,” the statement said.
