Changes in construction standards: new horizons
A discussion took place in Bishkek regarding housing construction in the Issyk-Ata fault zone.
This topic is related to a recent publication by the World Bank, which presents a report titled "Opportunities for a New Generation of Building Codes and Standards." The document explores current trends and offers recommendations.
It should be noted that during the Soviet period, construction in the Issyk-Ata fault zone was prohibited, and the area itself was used for creating forest plantations.
However, subsequently, this area began to be actively developed. Specialists in seismology and architecture noted that with the use of modern technologies, it is possible to construct residential buildings. Additionally, the characteristics of the fault zones have been revised.
