The Patrol and Post Service of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs (PPSM) is conducting raids in places where large numbers of people gather, such as public transport stops, parks, squares, and underground passages. During these events, police officers explain to citizens the rules regarding the ban on smoking in public places and inform them about possible administrative measures.

According to Article 83 of the Code of Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic, the fine for smoking in unauthorized places is 30 calculation indicators, which is equivalent to 3,000 soms. Since the beginning of this month, more than 190 protocols have already been drawn up, and corresponding fines have been imposed.

It is important to note that the smoking ban applies not only to traditional tobacco products but also to electronic cigarettes and vapes.

The main goal of these preventive measures is not only to identify violators but also to instill a culture of compliance with public norms among the population, caring for the health of those around them and their own well-being.

The Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs calls on all residents and guests of the capital to adhere to the established rules and to refrain from smoking in public places.

“Remember that smoking in public places is dangerous not only for you but also for the health of those around you. Your behavior can help maintain public order and create a safer urban environment,” emphasizes the Department of Internal Affairs.

If you witness smoking in public places or other violations of public order, report it to the 24-hour hotline at 102 or contact the nearest police station.
