What’s new for drivers
1. Speed limits for trucks. In populated areas, a speed limit of 50 km/h has been introduced for trucks. This limit does not apply to sections where road signs permit higher speeds, such as 80-90 km/h. This measure is aimed at reducing the number of fatal accidents involving pedestrians.2. Updated rules for convoy driving. In conditions of poor visibility, such as fog, blizzards, snowfall, or heavy rain, the rules for convoy driving have been clarified. The responsibilities of both drivers and police are now more clearly defined. For example, lane changes, overtaking, and stops without coordination are prohibited in a convoy. If the convoy consists of more than ten vehicles, it must be accompanied by two patrol cars.3. Rules for buses. Buses in categories M2 and M3 are now allowed to pick up and drop off passengers at regular bus stops.
4. Simplification of the use of flashing beacons. Now, special permission is not required to install orange and yellow flashing beacons with quick-release (magnetic) mounts. They can be used during road works, as well as when escorting large and dangerous cargo, groups of cyclists, and on buses transporting children. Previously, it was necessary to obtain permits, modify the vehicle, and note the beacon in the vehicle registration document.
5. Electronic waybills. Electronic waybills have been introduced. Additionally, all schemes, road signs, and markings have been digitized to enhance their visibility.
