According to information provided by the regional Internal Affairs Department, ahead of the early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, scheduled for November 30, a garrison drill inspection of law enforcement officers took place in Batken.
The event involved employees of the Batken region's Internal Affairs Department, representatives from city and district internal affairs departments, military personnel from military unit 707 of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, fighters from the Batken special purpose police unit, as well as staff from the traffic police.
The head of the Internal Affairs Department, Colonel of Police Ulan Zhukenov, checked the readiness of the police officers to perform their duties during the elections. Special attention was paid to the compliance of winter uniforms and the proper issuance of service IDs.
On election day, more than a thousand police officers will maintain order and prevent offenses in the Batken region. At each polling station, alongside the police officers, volunteer citizen patrols and veterans of the internal affairs bodies will be on duty. Operational investigative groups have also been established for quick response to potential offenses.
From November 28 to December 2, police officers will operate in an enhanced mode.
