There is a severe shortage of bus drivers in Bishkek, - city hall

On November 27, the Deputy Mayor of Bishkek, Ramiz Aliyev, held a meeting with the city's public transport drivers.

According to information provided by the city hall, the vice-mayor, along with representatives from the Department of Transport and employees of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," discussed the opinions and suggestions of drivers, as well as current issues in this sector.

During the meeting, the following issues were raised:


The city hall noted that the main goal of this event was to create more comfortable working conditions for drivers, enhance the quality of services, and promptly address everyday problems.

Aliyev expressed his intention to go out on the routes to monitor the situation in the transport sector, after which a number of discussed issues will be considered for resolution.

Currently, Bishkek is short of 667 drivers.

It is worth mentioning that in September, it was reported that over the past six months, more than 730 public transport drivers were dismissed due to violations of traffic rules and improper treatment of passengers.
