On Wednesday, a delegation of journalists from Central Asia, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs of India, visited Asian News International (ANI), the largest news agency in India. During this visit, participants were given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the agency's operations and internal processes.

The meeting allowed for discussions on the importance of Central Asia in the news context, as noted by ANI's executive producer Ravi Khandelwal while speaking with a correspondent from Kabar. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and other countries in the region are playing an increasingly significant role in the news agenda.

"Central Asia is of great importance to us. We closely monitor all significant events occurring in Kyrgyzstan—be it political changes, significant incidents, news from the world of sports or business. India aims to strengthen ties with all Central Asian states, and interactions like this visit only contribute to deepening cooperation. By increasing the availability of news from the region, we promote better understanding between peoples," he added.

Khandelwal also expressed satisfaction with the long-standing partnership with the Kyrgyz National News Agency Kabar, which began after the signing of a memorandum of understanding in 2022.

"We are pleased with our cooperation with Kabar, which has been ongoing for almost three years. News from Kyrgyzstan is very important to us, and we hope for further interaction and expansion of the use of materials from Kyrgyzstan," he noted.

The visit to ANI was a good opportunity for journalists from Central Asia to learn about editorial processes, technologies, and content distribution systems.

Asian News International, founded in 1971, is an Indian news agency providing multimedia news for newsrooms across the country. It was the first agency in India to start syndicating video news under the name TVNF.

A group of 21 journalists from Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan participated in this familiarization trip organized by the Department of External Information and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
