At the republican pedagogical conference held on December 22, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov announced the need to revise the approach to teaching the Kyrgyz language in educational institutions.

In his opinion, proficiency in the state language is not just a formality, but an important aspect for active participation in the professional and social life of the country.

“We insist that all graduates have a command of the state language. At the same time, it is necessary to expand support for the study of the native languages of all ethnic groups in Kyrgyzstan. Our cultural diversity is our wealth and strength,” Baisalov noted.

He also emphasized that special attention will be given to courses in history and geography.

“These subjects play a key role in forming a conscious citizen who is aware of their past, understands the present, and is responsible for their future. We cannot approach their teaching formally. New methodologies, programs, and teaching materials are needed, and we do not have time for lengthy testing and experiments. We will use intermediate materials and working methodologies,” added the Deputy Prime Minister.

In conclusion of his speech, Baisalov noted that examples from other countries show that reforms in education begin not with ideal conditions, but with decisive actions.
