Sultanbekov is demanding the annulment of the registration of candidates for deputies and their testing on knowledge of the state language.
“Recently, a law was passed regarding the election of deputies, where one of the key requirements is knowledge of the state language. How could the Central Election Commission register candidates without conducting an exam?” — he noted.
Tynchtyk Shainazarov, the chairman of the election commission, explained to 24.kg the reasons why candidates did not undergo language proficiency checks.

“The constitutional law on the state language states that deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh must be proficient in the state language. However, the level of language proficiency is determined by the cabinet of ministers. There is indeed a requirement for candidates regarding language knowledge, but there are no clarifications on the level. We cannot demand a language proficiency certificate if that level is not established,” — he added.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov stated that there would be no language proficiency checks for candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
We remind you that early elections to the Jogorku Kenesh will take place on November 30. According to the new rules, 90 deputies will be elected from 30 multi-mandate districts, with three representatives from each district.
