In connection with the upcoming New Year holidays, a large number of fraudulent messages have been observed on social networks and messengers, disguised as congratulations, giveaways, and gifts, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
According to information from the police, criminals are sending notifications promising cash prizes, bonuses, or gifts on behalf of government agencies, banks, or famous personalities. When citizens click on such links, they are asked to enter their personal data, bank card details, or confirmation codes, which can subsequently lead to theft of funds and account hacking.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic strongly advises citizens to exercise caution, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and not to divulge personal information, even if the message appears to be an official greeting or comes from an acquaintance.
In case of a leak of personal information or suspicion of fraud, it is necessary to immediately contact law enforcement agencies at the number 102.
