In the Kemin district, in the village of Boroldoy, a snow leopard was spotted — a rare predator species listed in the Red Book. This incident occurred on December 29 at around 23:20, as reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
According to available information, the snow leopard descended into the village and climbed a tree. Soon, the ranger of the Chon-Kemin State Natural Park, Zh. Chokoev, and hunter U. Abikanov arrived at the scene, who, following safety measures, helped the animal descend from the tree.
The snow leopard holds symbolic significance for Kyrgyzstan, and every instance of its appearance is considered important for the preservation of the country's biodiversity.
