30 Years of the Sarychat-Eertash State Nature Reserve

In the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, a ceremonial event was held in the village of Barskoon to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Sarychat-Eertash State Nature Reserve. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The reserve, covering an area of 149,117.9 hectares, is located at an altitude of 5,000 meters above sea level.

In honor of the anniversary, a JAK vehicle was handed over to the reserve by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision. This protected area is known for its diversity of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. In particular, it is home to 18 species of mammals and 49 species of birds, including significant species such as the snow leopard, brown bear, argali, maral, golden eagle, saker falcon, and peregrine falcon," the statement noted.
