“Since December, the temperature in half of the classrooms has remained low. The winter holidays are already over, but it is still cold in the school. Severe frosts are expected in the coming days, and no actions have been taken to improve the situation. In the classroom for six-year-old children, classes start at 07:30, and the temperature in the room was so low that the children had to sit in their jackets. Many have started to get sick,” they report.
According to the parents, they have already filed complaints with the city hall.
“Time is passing, and the school principal is not responding or informing us about the situation. I have contacted the Department of Education, the city hall, and 'Bishkekteploset'. Everyone replied that no official complaints regarding the lack of heating at school No. 26 had been received. This indicates that the school administration did not notify the relevant services and effectively ignored the problem,” they are outraged.
It seems that the health of the children is of no concern to anyone.
Response from the city hall
A representative of the Department of Education at the Bishkek city hall informed the Kaktus.media editorial office that heating in several classrooms on the first floor of school No. 26 was absent due to malfunctions in the system. Emergency services from the city hall's Construction and Installation Department have already carried out the necessary work to resolve the issue.“At the moment, the heating system has been fully restored, and the school administration has been instructed to monitor the temperature in the premises. Work has been done to replace heating devices in eight classrooms, partially in four. The heating systems in the corridors, foyer, and sanitary facilities on the first floor have also been updated. All malfunctions have been eliminated,” the department noted.
During the repair work, the following replacements were made:
- 125 m² of piping replaced;
- 40 heating radiators installed, including 35 radiators with ten sections each, one radiator with six sections, and four radiators with 13 sections;
- circulation pump replaced.
