At a press conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, summarized the work of the foreign policy agency for 2025.
He noted that the implementation of the principle of multi-vector diplomacy continued in the past year, and mutually beneficial ties with various countries were strengthened.
“The year 2025 turned out to be eventful for our diplomacy; we aimed to simultaneously address several important tasks: the completion of long negotiations on the state border, the exercise of the chairmanship in the CSTO and EAEU, as well as the beginning of the chairmanship in SCO, which contributed to the expansion of our international partners,” the minister added.
Kulubaev emphasized that there was a significant increase in the number of bilateral and multilateral meetings over the year: a total of about 190 contacts took place, of which about 60 were held in Kyrgyzstan and 130 abroad.
He also noted that in 2025, Kyrgyzstan and China became strategic partners of a new level, signing 33 bilateral documents during two visits of the president to the People's Republic of China. Moreover, according to him, Kyrgyzstan transitioned from a level of friendship to a deeper, comprehensive partnership with Mongolia.
One of the key successes of the country's foreign policy, the minister mentioned, was the resolution of issues related to the state border.
