Recently, the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and the Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh reviewed three proposed versions of the anthem, but all were rejected.
Before the final decision, the committee chairman Kurmankul Zulushiev turned to commission member Musaev.
He emphasized that the anthem should be a unique work capable of inspiring and awakening patriotism among the people. "When people hear the anthem, it should evoke a sense of excitement," he noted.
Musaev also recalled his experiences traveling abroad, where he heard the anthems of other countries, and remarked: "Listening to them, you feel your body filled with a shiver, and the thought arises: why don’t we have such an anthem? The previous anthem had its time and fulfilled its purpose," he added.
In Musaev's opinion, in light of current realities, both the state and society have reached a new level, which requires an update of the anthem. "The anthem gains its strength through melody and march. We may not understand the words, but we feel the thrill. Our anthem should correspond to this level," he emphasizes.
Moreover, Musaev mentioned that most of the texts submitted for the competition did not meet the requirements. "I have already asked myself: do we really have no akyns [poets] left? Creating an anthem requires a special talent and understanding of its essence," he noted, adding that he liked the text of the third version, although it needs refinement, including the exclusion of certain words, such as "Azattyk."
According to Musaev, after the changes were made, the authors improved the text, and it became truly high-quality.
