At the largest international forum, Kyrgyz collectible coins and banknotes received high praise from experts.
From January 26 to February 1, 2026, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (NBKR) participated in the World Money Fair held in Berlin. As part of this event, a unique exhibition was organized, featuring over 30 samples of coins and banknotes. Participation in such a large-scale event, which gathers more than 300 exhibitors from 50 countries, underscores Kyrgyzstan's intention to integrate its cultural heritage into the global numismatic market.
The main focus of the NBKR at the exhibition was on promoting the history and cultural identity of the country through the lens of the national currency. The exhibited series, such as "The Era of the Kyrgyz Kaganate" and "World Nomad Games," showcased high quality of artistic execution and technological solutions. According to the NBKR, the Kyrgyz exhibition attracted interest from both private collectors and professionals from leading mints around the world.
The exhibition featured banknotes and coins in the following categories:
"Historical Events";
"The Era of the Kyrgyz Kaganate";
"Monuments of History and Architecture of Kyrgyzstan";
"Kyrgyz Customs and Rituals";
"National Musical Instruments";
"National Sports and Folk Games";
"World Nomad Games";
"Red Book of Kyrgyzstan".
The total number of exhibits amounted to over 30 unique specimens of banknotes and collectible coins.
Participation in the World Money Fair represents an important tool of "soft power" for central banks. By showcasing coins from the series "Red Book of Kyrgyzstan" and "National Musical Instruments," the NBKR successfully asserts the national currency as a work of art and a historical artifact. The professional community noted the uniqueness of the presented lots, which contributes to increasing the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyz numismatic products on the international stage.
