During the meeting of the permanent commission of the capital's kenesh, it was announced that 49 billion soms would be allocated for the improvement of areas that were annexed to Bishkek as part of the administrative-territorial reform.

The project, scheduled for the period from 2026 to 2030, requires funding from various sources. As noted by one of the representatives of the mayor's office, the funds will come from both the local and republican budgets, and it is also possible to attract funds from various foundations.

“We have determined the amount, but this does not mean that the money is already available,” the official said, adding that the priority is to identify pressing issues.

Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov expressed doubt, asking the question: “So, is this all just a dream?”

In response, the official assured that the needs had been clearly identified. “If we have a plan, we will be able to allocate the necessary funds,” he noted.

The deputy also emphasized the need to address issues with sewage systems, water supply, and the condition of roads.

It is worth noting that in 2024, eight rural districts (23 villages) from the Alamudun and Sokuluk regions will be annexed to the capital. All these areas will receive the status of municipal territorial administrations (MTA). As a result of the administrative reform, the area of Bishkek has tripled — from 12.9 to 38.6 thousand hectares.
