Sergey Vakunov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan, reported in an interview with the channel "Russia 24" about new opportunities for students from the republic. He noted that the grants to be provided could become an important incentive for Kyrgyz citizens to enroll in Russian higher education institutions.

According to the ambassador, there are currently about 10,000 students from Kyrgyzstan studying in Russia, of which 4,500 are receiving education on a budget basis.

“Starting in 2025, it is planned to introduce grants for students from Kyrgyzstan that will cover living expenses and other personal needs, including education. This will undoubtedly create additional incentives for the citizens of the country to continue their studies in the Russian Federation after finishing school,” added Vakunov.

In addition, the ambassador spoke about an important project to strengthen the positions of Russian education in Kyrgyzstan—the construction of a new campus for the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU). He noted that the Russian side will allocate funding, and the land for construction will be provided from Bishkek, which will allow students to comfortably study and live on the university's premises.
