At the end of 2025, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin summarized the results and noted significant changes. This year became symbolic due to the transition from short-term solutions to the development of a long-term growth strategy.

One of the most significant events was the signing of an agreement between the governments regarding the construction of a new campus for KRSU — the first of its kind outside of Russia. This project has become key for further educational cooperation and sets new standards for university infrastructure in the region.

This year also saw the completion of a major renovation of the KRSU School, which now has 564 students. The school is integrated into the overall educational model "school - vocational education - university," which will help create a sustainable system for training personnel.

In 2025, a Board of Trustees was established and an endowment fund was opened, which will serve as the foundation for the university's long-term financial stability. At the same time, the partnership network, educational programs, scientific initiatives, and youth projects were actively developed.

Legal Aspects of Campus Construction

The implementation of the new campus project began with decisions from the government. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic approved a resolution concerning the transformation of a land plot in the Alamudun district of the Chui region for the construction of the KRSU campus. The area of the plot is 27.82 hectares in the rural area of Baytik Baatyr.

The land was reclassified from agricultural to settlement category. Of the total area, 25.38 hectares are state-owned, while 2.44 hectares are privately owned. This decision was made as an exception for the implementation of a strategic state project in accordance with current legislation.

The resolution also includes the termination of third-party rights, updating of cadastral documents, and compliance with urban planning, environmental, and sanitary standards. An important point is the necessity to preserve soil fertility and compensate for agricultural production losses, as well as the involvement of an archaeologist in earthworks.

Teamwork as the Key to Success

KRSU Rector Sergey Volkov noted that one of the main achievements of 2025 was the internal reorganization of management processes.

According to him, the university developed a team work model that allows student initiatives to go through a full cycle — from idea to implementation. This helped transition from fragmented solutions to the creation of well-thought-out educational and social spaces.

In 2025, the university focused on improving infrastructure, including engineering networks, heating, electricity supply, and cooling systems. These "invisible" aspects, as emphasized by the administration, are the foundation for scaling changes.

Educational Cooperation and Social Initiatives

The year was also rich in educational processes. KRSU expanded its cooperation with businesses and leading universities, focusing on specific roadmaps with measurable outcomes. This provided students with opportunities for paid internships and studying abroad.

Additionally, the university launched a program to support young teachers, including mechanisms for assistance with initial mortgage payments and the development of social infrastructure, particularly plans to open a kindergarten. KRSU has a social support system for employees and retirees, including compensation and wellness programs.

Prospects for 2026

For 2026, among the priorities are bringing at least 50% of the infrastructure to regulatory standards, increasing demand for educational programs, growth in scientific income, and competitiveness in admissions. The university also plans to more actively attract teachers from the regions and abroad.

According to the rector, it is important for KRSU not only to update buildings and launch new projects but also to create a sustainable development system focused on the needs of students, teachers, and the economy. He considers maintaining teamwork and trust within the team as a fundamental condition for the university's further growth.
