The grand opening of the renovated Secondary School of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took place in Bishkek, marking the first major renovation in 29 years. The renovation work was funded under the Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Among those present at the ceremony were Nikolai Kudryavtsev, special representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, as well as Aibek Chotonov, Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations of Kyrgyzstan, the leadership of KRSU, teachers, parents, and students.

The ceremony began with the raising of the flags of Kyrgyzstan and Russia and welcoming speeches from officials. Aibek Chotonov noted that the school has been operating for 29 years and during this time has prepared many graduates who demonstrate high results in nationwide tests. He emphasized that the updated conditions make the school a model of quality.
Nikolai Kudryavtsev highlighted that the opening of the renovated school is a significant step in Russian-Kyrgyz partnership and coincides with the signing of an agreement for the construction of a new KRSU campus. According to him, the school has undergone significant changes, and the ceremony reflects the current trends in the relations between the two countries.

KRSU Rector Sergey Volkov stated that the renovation of the school is not only an improvement of infrastructure but also a development of the educational process. An integrated learning system has been implemented according to the standards of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and individual educational trajectories have been created in four areas: engineering, medicine, social sciences, and entrepreneurship. He noted that KRSU students will become future applicants for the new campus and participants in modern scientific projects of the university.
The major renovation covered all aspects of the infrastructure: the facade, engineering communications, windows and doors, security systems, sanitary facilities, and flooring have all been updated. The school now features modern laboratories for studying chemistry, biology, physics, ecology, and digital sciences, as well as new equipment for preparing for the OGE and USE, including interactive panels and robotics. The territory and sports grounds have been completely improved.

Starting in 2025, the school will be funded from the budget of the Russian Federation, making education free of charge. Additionally, 200 primary school students have gained access to hot meals.

Currently, 564 students are enrolled in the school, which is 62 more than last year. The competition for places in the first grades is up to five applicants, while in the senior grades, it is up to 27. Specialized classes operate in the format of "school - vocational education - university," aligning with the training directions of KRSU.
During the event, 20 KRSU staff members were awarded departmental awards from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, and five school teachers received awards "For Merits to the University."

The ceremonial ribbon cutting became a symbol of a new stage in the development of school education at KRSU. Guests were able to familiarize themselves with the updated classrooms, equipment, and new opportunities for students.
The opening of the school is part of broad reforms at KRSU and continues the joint educational initiatives of Kyrgyzstan and Russia. A new stage in the development of the university's educational complex will begin with the construction of the campus, an agreement for which was signed during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Bishkek.
