Secretary General of the Turkic Council K. Omuraliev summarized the organization's activities in 2025

In his address, Omuraliev noted that 2025 was an important stage for the implementation of the "Vision of the Turkic World – 2040" and the Turkic Council Strategy for 2022–2026. Under Kyrgyzstan's presidency this year, more than 150 events were held, including over 30 high-level meetings, and 10 new projects aimed at deepening integration and developing the institutional structures of the Turkic Council were initiated.

One of the most significant events was the informal summit of the Turkic Council, which took place on May 21, 2025, in Budapest. As a result of this summit, the Budapest Declaration was adopted, outlining key directions in economic integration, digital development, and security. This event was the first of its kind in Europe, held on the territory of an observer state.

Another important moment of the year was the first meeting of the heads of government of the Turkic Council countries in Bishkek, where a permanent coordination mechanism was established to accelerate the implementation of decisions made at the summits.

The address highlighted that in 2025, cooperation areas were expanded, including interaction among central banks, financial intelligence agencies, the defense industry, intellectual property institutions, and social services. The establishment of the Council on Green Financing, the Union of Insurance of the Turkic World, and the Turkic Investment Promotion Network contributed to strengthening economic integration.

Youth, sports, and humanitarian initiatives also received attention this year. Among them were the III Universiade of Turkic States held in Kyrgyzstan, the designation of Almaty as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World, the selection of Manas as the Tourist Capital of the Turkic World, as well as various sports and cultural events in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.

The culmination of the year was the 12th summit of the Turkic Council, which took place on October 7, 2025, in Gabala under the slogan "Regional Peace and Security." The Gabala Declaration, comprising 121 points, was adopted at the summit, and the presidency was officially transferred from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan.

Additionally, the "Turkic Council+" format was approved to deepen cooperation with external partners, and key infrastructure projects were confirmed, such as the development of the Middle and Zangezur corridors and the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars and China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway routes.

In the international arena, the Turkic Council intensified its interaction with global institutions, holding events in Geneva, Vienna, New York, and Brussels. High-profile visits to Mongolia, Mexico, and the USA were made, contributing to the expansion of political dialogue and economic partnership.

Omuraliev also noted cultural achievements, including UNESCO's proclamation of December 15 as the World Day of the Turkic Language Family, as well as the improvement of language accessibility on the official website of the Turkic Council and the resumption of the internship program for students from Turkic countries.

In conclusion, the Secretary General expressed gratitude to the member states and observers for their support and contribution to the development of the Organization, wishing the peoples of the Turkic world peace, stability, and prosperity in the coming year.
